Whittier Law Review (WLR)
Journal Descriptions
Whittier Law Review is a peer-reviewed academic law journal established in 1980 and originally affiliated with Whittier Law School in California, United States. The journal was developed to provide a scholarly platform for legal research, critical analysis, and discussion of contemporary legal issues affecting national and international legal systems. It published articles written by legal scholars, judges, attorneys, policymakers, and law students, contributing significantly to academic and professional legal discourse. The journal covered a wide range of legal subjects including constitutional law, criminal law, business law, environmental law, intellectual property, international law, civil rights, family law, and public policy. In addition to scholarly articles, the publication included legal commentaries, case analyses, symposium proceedings, and student notes addressing evolving legal challenges and judicial developments. The review emphasized practical and theoretical approaches to legal scholarship and encouraged interdisciplinary perspectives in legal research. Whittier Law Review gained recognition for publishing symposium-based issues featuring contributions from distinguished legal academics and practitioners. Although Whittier Law School later ceased operations, archived issues of the journal continue to serve as valuable resources for legal research, comparative law studies, and historical analysis of American legal scholarship.
