West's Atlantic reporter (WAR)
Journal Descriptions
West's Atlantic Reporter is a major regional legal reporter published by Thomson Reuters through its West Publishing division. It forms part of the National Reporter System, which compiles and publishes appellate court decisions from state courts across the United States. The Atlantic Reporter covers judicial decisions from Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and the District of Columbia. The publication includes officially reported opinions issued by state supreme courts and appellate courts. Each case report is accompanied by editorial features such as headnotes, legal summaries, cross references, and West Key Number classifications that assist legal practitioners and researchers in identifying relevant precedents and legal principles. The reporter has evolved through several series including Atlantic Reporter Second Series (A.2d) and Atlantic Reporter Third Series (A.3d) to accommodate the growing volume of appellate decisions. It is widely used by attorneys, judges, law schools, legal scholars, and libraries as an authoritative source of case law and judicial interpretation in the Atlantic region of the United States.
