The Turf Law Journal (“turflawjournal.ul.ac.za” or “turflawjournal.org”) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the School of Law, University of Limpopo. The purpose of the journal is to provide a platform for high-quality research on transformative perspectives on law in South Africa. While the journal mainly seeks to respond to legal questions in South Africa, comparative perspectives from Africa and beyond are most welcome. The journal further welcomes contributions that take multi- and inter-disciplinary perspectives to law. In particular, the journal targets high-quality research from emerging scholars and non-conventional perspectives from established researchers.The journal encourages interdisciplinary and comparative approaches to legal research, welcoming contributions from both emerging and established scholars. Its scope includes constitutional law, governance, rule of law, and socio-legal studies, often emphasizing issues such as justice, equality, and institutional reform. TLJ operates a double-blind peer review system, ensuring academic rigor and integrity in published work. It publishes a variety of content types including research articles, case notes, commentaries, and book reviews. The journal follows an open-access model under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license, allowing free access and reuse of scholarly content while authors retain copyright. A key objective of the journal is to amplify African legal perspectives while contributing to global legal discourse. It also promotes accessibility and inclusivity by eliminating article processing charges (APCs), making it free for authors to publish.
