Tropical Veterinarian is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal devoted to the study of animal health and disease within tropical and subtropical regions. Established in 1983 and published by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, the journal provides a platform for the dissemination of research findings relevant to veterinary science in developing environments. The journal covers a wide range of topics including livestock production, epidemiology, infectious and parasitic diseases, veterinary public health, and preventive medicine. It also welcomes basic and applied research related to both domestic and wild animals, reflecting the diverse ecological and agricultural systems found in tropical regions. A key aim of the journal is to enhance understanding of animal diseases that significantly impact food security, rural livelihoods, and public health in tropical countries. It publishes original research articles, reviews, and technical reports that contribute to improving animal health management and veterinary practices.
