Norwegian Journal of Social Research (Tidsskrift for samfunnsforskning) (est. 1960) is Norway's leading journal in social sciences. The journal covers the whole range of Norwegian social studies, and publishes work of high quality in sociology, political science, social anthropology, economy, history, media science, and human geography. Emphasis is placed on original articles by Norwegian social science researchers, based on empirical investigations, but the journal also publishes review articles, debate articles, research policy contributions, notices and book reviews in Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. Norwegian Journal of Social Research addresses researchers, teachers and students in social studies, as well as the general broader public. From 2017, the journal is published open access. The journal is owned by Institute for Social Research and is published by Scandinavian University Press with the support of Nasjonalt tidsskriftkonsortium for humaniora og samfunnsvitenskap.
