The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology is an independent journal with an international perspective and a strong clinical focus. We publish interesting and informative reviews on any topic connected with gastroenterology or hepatology and considers any original research contribution that advocates change in, or illuminates, clinical practice in these areas. We publish papers relating to primary and secondary prevention, diagnosis, management, and treatment of any disease or disorder of the alimentary tract, liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, and exocrine pancreas and their complications. In addition, the journal continues The Lancet's tradition of advocacy and health policy and aims to catalyse alliances between health-care professionals, the public, and policy makers to champion change based on the best evidence to deliver better health worldwide. We publish a range of content types that encompass all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology medicine: Articles, Comment, Correspondence, News, Review, Health Policy, Viewpoint, and Clinical Picture. We also publish Series and Commissions that aim to shape and drive positive change in clinical practice and health policy in areas of need in gastroenterology and hepatology.
