The Journal of Legal Studies publishes interdisciplinary academic research that uses social science methodologies to shed light on legal institutions or actors. To that end, the JLS publishes both empirical and theoretical articles that employ approaches developed in fields like economics, political science, and psychology. The JLS also publishes short submissions that critique or extend articles published in previous issues of the JLS. The Journal was founded in 1972.
