One of the oldest journals in the earth sciences, The Journal of Geology has since 1893 promoted the systematic philosophical and fundamental study of the earth sciences. The journal publishes original research across a broad range of earth and planetary science subdisciplines: continental and oceanic tectonics, geobiology, geochemistry, geoscience education, geomorphology, petrology, geophysics, mineralogy, planetary geology, sedimentology, structural geology, and volcanology. Manuscripts of special interest are those that focus on earth and planetary science evolutionary processes and offer new geological insights derived from the application of innovative approaches and methods.
