Journal Descriptions

The Human Life Review is an American quarterly journal dedicated to discussions on bioethics, human dignity, medical ethics, and social issues related to the protection of human life. Founded in 1975 by James Patrick McFadden through the Human Life Foundation, the journal was established in response to increasing ethical debates surrounding abortion and related medical and legal developments in the United States. The journal publishes scholarly essays, commentary articles, legal analyses, medical discussions, and cultural reviews focusing on abortion, euthanasia, suicide, cloning, genetic engineering, prenatal testing, stem cell research, and broader family and societal issues. It also includes philosophical and theological perspectives concerning ethics and public policy. Over the decades, The Human Life Review has featured contributions from academics, physicians, legal scholars, journalists, and public intellectuals. The publication is recognized as an important forum for discussions on life ethics and public morality and is indexed in several scholarly databases including Scopus and MEDLINE related resources.
