The Guthrie Clinic Journal of Medicine is the journal of the Donald Guthrie Foundation within The Guthrie Clinic’s integrated healthcare system. The journal's mission is to publish articles that improve rural health, medical education, and clinical practice. The Guthrie Clinic Journal of Medicine is a peer-reviewed, open-access general medical journal with special interests in rural health disparities and outcomes undergraduate and graduate medical education clinical practice The journal accepts submissions of original research, scoping and systematic reviews, reports on quality improvement projects, clinical case reports, and commentary in response to journal articles or editorials. Submissions are welcome from anywhere in North America and internationally. There are no submission fees or article processing charges. The Guthrie Clinic Journal of Medicine is a publication of Donald Guthrie Foundation, located on the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital campus in Sayre, PA. Both Donald Guthrie Foundation and Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital are entities within The Guthrie Clinic integrated health system. Predecessors of the journal were published 1931–2003. Those volumes have been digitized and are now available on the journal site. The Guthrie Clinic Journal of Medicine was reborn during the COVID-19 pandemic. Volume 73, Number 1, the first new issue in nearly 2 decades, was published in 2021. University of Toronto Press began publishing the journal in April 2023, with Volume 75, Number 1. Articles are published individually online. Issues are compiled 2 times per year.
