Journal Descriptions

The aim of The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance is to provide a platform for rigorous and cutting-edge research in the field of the economics of risk and insurance. It seeks to advance understanding of the economic aspects of insurance, with a particular focus on its impact on individuals, businesses, society, and the broader economy. This journal also intends to advance scientific knowledge of the insurance industry as well as stimulate dialogue among a worldwide readership of insurance academics and researchers, and their colleagues who work in the insurance industry and desire deeper insight into strategic options for their business sector. Founded by The Geneva Association in 1973, this prestigious journal still leads its field, publishing papers which both improve the scientific knowledge of the insurance industry and stimulate constructive dialogue between the industry and its economic and social partners. This is a key strategic role for insurance in the modern economy. Each issue of The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance — Issues and Practice is devoted to a relevant topic of contemporary interest. Major topics include: Bank Assurance, Financial Services (regulation and management), New Perspectives in the Welfare State, Developments in the Health Sector, Technological Issues, etc.
