Journal Descriptions

Published on behalf of the Textile Institute by Taylor & Francis, Textile Progress provides critical reviews of recent research on textiles and has been doing so since 1969. Its focus is on research and application of the resulting developments in the textile and apparel industries. Four issues are published every year. Each issue of Textile Progress is devoted to just one topic, selected because it attracts significant research interest. The aim is to help the reader to achieve understanding of the state of the art in relation to research into that particular topic at the time of publication. So whilst appropriate reference is made to the research base established by early work, the greatest weight of attention is given to the research and development activities completed in the last five to ten years. In order to achieve the desired level of critical review, the authors of topics selected for publication in Textile Progress are therefore drawn from prestigious textile research and development institutions from across the world. By reporting the advances made by active researchers in the field of interest, subjecting them to informed critical review then spelling out the next series of priorities for research, each issue of Textile Progress provides original analysis and valuable insights into the topic of interest. Because of this approach, the primary audience that Textile Progress targets is expected to comprise research workers, academics and practitioners internationally, not only those working in the specialist field itself, but also those from other disciplines.
