Journal Descriptions

This journal is a part of the Subscribe to Open pilot. As such all articles in the current volume will be published open access at no costs to authors. If enough readers renew their reading support for this journal, it will remain open access next year. Technical Services Quarterly is dedicated to providing a forum for the presentation of current developments and future trends concerning the technical operations of libraries and information centers. The journal aims to keep its readers informed of current developments and future trends in research, developments, and practical implementation of systems and applications of traditional and non-traditional technical services and the public operations they influence and sustain. The journal accepts original research, theoretical, and implementation articles pertaining to technical services, automation, networking, document delivery, information technology, library instruction and information literacy, reference and bibliography, case studies, cost analysis, staffing, space, organizational behavior and leadership, and collection development and management. Each issue also includes the following columns: "Technical Services Report," edited by Anastasia Guimaraes, discusses the latest developments in library technical operations with in-depth reports from individuals attending workshops and conferences. "Tech Services on the Web," edited by Melissa De Fino, provides qualitative descriptions and evaluations of the wide variety of library technical-related resources available on the Web. "Reviews," edited by Steve Kelley and Carolyn McCallum, analyzes the latest software and books available in the field. "Trending Tech Services: The Intersection of Technology and Tech Services," edited by Edward Corrado, presents and analyzes challenges and trends facing library professionals and paraprofessionals in the rapidly changing global environment.
