Systematic Biology (SB)
Journal Descriptions
Systematic Biology is the bimonthly journal of the Society of Systematic Biologists. Papers for the journal are original contributions to the theory, principles, and methods of systematics as well as phylogeny, evolution, morphology, biogeography, paleontology, genetics, and the classification of all living things. In addition to publishing major Research Articles (theoretical and empirical studies that explore principles and/or methods of systematics), the journal publishes Spotlight papers (with a narrower focus on an empirical system), Software for Systematics and Evolution papers (software and tools of general interest to and used by the systematics and evolutionary biology community), Points of View (a forum for discussion on controversial topics of current interest to systematists), Invited Reviews (commissioned critical syntheses of existing literature that generate new insights by identifying trends, gaps, and future directions), book reviews, and announcements of general interest.
