Suds (Suds)

The journal Suds is a geography journal first and foremost, but also a multidisciplinary journal. It places the field and politics prominently in its explanatory system, and proposes to revisit universal themes and notions from the South. Heir to the Cahiers d'Outre-Mer, from 2023, Suds aims to offer an editorial space for ongoing, field-based, precise, localized research, in particular research developed by colleagues located in the South. Contributions follow a double-blind evaluation process. Two thematic issues per year are published, after calls for contributions. They are supplemented by a miscellaneous section and rotating sections (Dîner de Suds , Terrain de Suds , Suds des concours, Suds a lu, Suds a vu, Suds en parle). The target audience is the academic world. The editorial board meets at least twice a year, in spring and fall. The deadline for publication of an article is 12 to 18 months. The journal implements plagiarism detection using dedicated software. Under the supervision of the University of Bordeaux-Montaigne, the journal is published by the Presses Universitaires de Bordeaux, with the support of the laboratory Les Afriques dans le Monde (UMR 5115). The Presses Universitaires de Bordeaux, a public publishing house, publishes books intended for an academic readership made up of specialists, students, but also secondary school teachers and any public interested in the humanities and social sciences or other university specialties. They thus contribute to the dissemination and reputation of the research carried out in the universities of Bordeaux through collections that reflect their areas of excellence.
