Studium Generale (SG)
Journal Descriptions
The Studium Generale publications are derived from the former lecture series of the same name (now the Ruperto Carola Lecture Series), which focuses on a specific topic each semester and presents it to the interested public. The editor is the responsible Vice-Rector and Chair of the Studium Generale Commission, and editorial responsibility lies with the Knowledge Exchange Department. About the Journal Until 2019, Studium Generale was the title of a lecture series at Heidelberg University, which is now being continued under the name Ruperto Carola Ringvorlesung. It is aimed at all members of the university and interested members of the public. The lectures, presented by both members of the University and external institutions, have a central theme which is approached from the viewpoint of whichever discipline the lecturer represents. Until the 2009/2010 winter semester, the lectures were published in the "Studium Generale" series by Winter-Verlag. Starting with the lecture series "Licht“ (winter term 2014/2015) to the lecture series "Ressources" (summer term 2019) the presentations appeared in the Campus Media series published by Heidelberg University Publishing.
