Studies in American Naturalism publishes critical essays, documents, notes, bibliographies, and reviews concerning American literary naturalism, broadly conceived. It presents contributions illuminating the texts and contexts of naturalism across all genres from its nineteenth-century origins to its twentieth- and twenty-first century transformations. Studies in American Naturalism is published for the International Theodore Dreiser Society. Studies in American Naturalism publishes critical essays, documents, notes, bibliographies, and reviews concerning American literary naturalism, broadly conceived. Published twice each year by the International Theodore Dreiser Society and the University of Nebraska Press, the journal seeks contributions illuminating the texts and contexts of naturalism across all genres from its nineteenth-century origins to its twentieth-and twenty-first century transformations. Manuscripts should follow either the 7th or 8th editions of the MLA Handbook. Occasionally, some editorial revision is necessary to meet space or style requirements. Reviews are assigned. Electronic submissions are encouraged, either as Word or PDF files. Please identify yourself on a cover page and not on the manuscript itself, and include postal and email addresses and a telephone number.
