Studia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai Historia Artium (SUBBHA)

Studia UBB Historia Artium has been, since 2008 a series of the reputable Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai. Published by the Faculty of History and Philosophy, it is aimed at an academic viewership as well as towards a more general audience interested in Art History in its broadest sense, Cultural Heritage, and Visual Culture as a whole. Each number is set to include not only research articles but also profiles or interviews with relevant actors in the aforementioned fields, as well as an ample section dedicated to book and exhibition reviews. Through the chosen format, the journal is intent on becoming a platform for conversation just as much as a connection between the historiographies and artistic realities in the Central and Eastern European region; publishing the texts in internationally recognized languages (English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, with English summaries/Keywords) will be instrumental in accomplishing this goal. Having local and foreign collaborators, a high professional standard, and a scrupulous peer-review process, Studia UBB Historia Artium welcomes contributions from established and early-career researchers, along with doctoral candidates. The subject area is also intended as generous in order to accommodate interventions ranging from Ancient artifacts to Contemporary Art mediums, particularly focusing on art in Romania and its integration in a regional, European, and international context. Diversity and interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies are thoroughly encouraged. The journal is indexed in international databases such as CEEOL, EBSCO, ProQuest, ANVUR, BASE, it is officially acknowledged by Romanian National University Research Council (CNCSIS) and is an Open Access Journal since 2021. It is edited annually and the publishing terms and conditions follow the guidelines and norms of Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai.
