Structural Optimization (SO)

Structural Optimization was an international peer reviewed scientific journal focused on optimization methods and computational techniques in structural and mechanical engineering. The journal published original research articles, technical papers, and review studies related to the optimal design of engineering systems and structures. The publication emphasized mathematical optimization, numerical modeling, topology optimization, sensitivity analysis, finite element methods, reliability based design, and multidisciplinary engineering optimization. It covered applications in civil engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical systems, automotive structures, and materials engineering. The journal became highly regarded within computational engineering and applied mechanics communities for advancing innovative optimization algorithms and engineering design methodologies. In 1999, the journal continued under the title Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, which remains an active leading journal in the field today.
