STAPS is considered a “qualifying” journal by the CNU in section 74 (STAPS). The steady increase in article consultations and downloads (74,500 in 2022) reflects the journal's national and international recognition, and its surface area. STAPS is a multidisciplinary journal published since 1980 under the aegis of AFRAPS (Association Francophone pour la Recherche en Activités Physiques et Sportives). It publishes research in the social sciences and humanities of sport and physical education: history, sociology, psychology, cultural studies, educational science, didactics and intervention, ethnology, anthropology, epistemology, management, etc. STAPS provides a scientific analysis of the phenomenon of sport and/or physical education in the reality of their practices, institutions and players. An international French-language peer-reviewed journal, it publishes articles on the social and human sciences of sport, in French and English, by researchers from all over the world. Our mission is to advance knowledge and foster interdisciplinary collaboration by providing a forum for innovative research. We aim to promote scholarly dialogue and disseminate impactful research that addresses contemporary issues across diverse disciplines. STAPS is a multidisciplinary French-language journal in sports science. It publishes original research in social sciences and humanities: history of sport and physical education, sociology of sport, psychology of sport, ethnology and anthropology, sport administration, epistemology, didactics and intervention in sport and physical education etc.
