South European Society and Politics (SESP)
Journal Descriptions
A leading point of reference for scholars of Southern Europe, South European Society and Politics (SESP) publishes research that illuminates key aspects of contemporary Southern European society and politics. The journal covers Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey. SESP publishes comparative and inter-disciplinary analyses, as well as innovative country studies. It publishes research in particular by scholars working in political science, political economy, sociology, political psychology, and closely related disciplines—as well as research on timely and salient policy issues that are of broad interest. The focus of South European Society and Politics is on the domestic politics and society of the Southern European countries; it does not cover foreign and security policy. It welcomes studies on linkages between the European Union and Southern Europe that address fundamental aspects of domestic politics or society. SESP welcomes research using a variety of methodological approaches, including qualitative, quantitative, and experimental, that also contextualize their analyses in Southern Europe and/or the country or countries examined. Stylistically, SESP stresses readability for an inter-disciplinary and methodologically diverse readership.
