Sociétés & Représentations (S&R)
Journal Descriptions
Plural in its subject matter and pluralist with respect to suggested approaches, this transdisciplinary journal wants to be open to questions encountered by contemporary society in the familiarity of its forms while participating in a renewed way of thinking. This editorial venture was born of the desire to create synergies within a laboratory, a UFR and, more broadly, a multidisciplinary university. Sociétés et Représentations, a transdisciplinary thematic journal, seeks to shed new light on "societal issues" through approaches from related scientific disciplines: perspectives from knowledge that is either unknown or rarely able to communicate. It is committed to inviting foreign researchers and sometimes voiceless stakeholders into dialogue, and to putting forward hypotheses on new or little-explored issues for discussion. From the outset, the members of CREDHESS set themselves the goal of designing a journal at the interface between the academic world and the general public. They set out to be serious without being academic. While preserving a certain scientific rigor, they tried to make the publication accessible and attractive, by ensuring the readability of the contributions, playing with iconography and layout, and offering an abundant, well-reasoned bibliography at the end of the volume. Plural in its subject matter and pluralist in the approaches it takes, Sociétés et Représentations aims to be responsive to the issues facing contemporary society in all its intimate forms, while helping to renew our ways of thinking about it.
