Semiconductor Science & Technology (SS&T)
Journal Descriptions
Semiconductor Science & Technology is a long-standing, peer-reviewed scholarly journal established in 1986 and published monthly by IOP Publishing Ltd., part of the Institute of Physics. It focuses on cutting-edge research in the science and technology of semiconductors, embracing both fundamental and applied studies. The journal’s scope spans a wide array of topics including the properties and behavior of semiconductor materials (including non-organic, organic and oxide semiconductors), characterization techniques, nanostructures, device physics and design, fabrication processes, simulation and modeling, and emerging applications in fields like quantum technologies, flexible electronics and energy materials. It serves as a platform for original research articles, rapid communications and topical reviews that contribute significantly to the advancement of semiconductor science and technology and its technological applications. The current Editor-in-Chief, Bao-Ping Zhang, leads an international editorial board to ensure rigorous peer review and high scientific standards. As a hybrid journal, authors have the option to publish open access upon payment of an article publication charge, while traditional subscription access remains available. With an international authorship and readership, Semiconductor Science & Technology facilitates the dissemination of impactful research that drives progress in semiconductor materials and devices across physics, engineering, materials science and related disciplines.
