Sciences du Design (SD)
Journal Descriptions
*How we are to live tomorrow must determine all our research. -- Jacques Viénot, Prague speech, 1929. Founded in 2015 by Stéphane Vial and Alain Findeli, Sciences du Design is an international peer-reviewed journal of design research in the French language. Published in immediate full open access by Presses universitaires de France and distributed online on the Cairn portal, it is supported by a dozen academic and industrial partners. Based in Montreal, the journal is published in Paris. Generalist and pluralist, Sciences du Design explores all aspects of design and design research. International, it relies on a scientific committee representing over thirty teaching and research establishments, one-third of which are in France, one-third in Canada and one-third in other countries (Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, USA, Australia, Italy, Germany, Spain). Francophone, the journal publishes research papers submitted in French, regardless of geographical area or language of origin. Sciences du Design defends the epistemological originality of design, and contributes to the recognition of design as a French-language academic discipline.
