Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM)
Journal Descriptions
Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM) is a leading open access, international journal for outstanding research articles across all aspects of materials science. Our audience is the international community across the disciplines of materials science, physics, chemistry, biology as well as engineering. The journal covers a broad spectrum of topics including functional and structural materials, synthesis and processing, theoretical analyses, characterization and properties of materials. Emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary nature of materials science and issues at the forefront of the field, such as energy and environmental issues, as well as medical and bioengineering applications. Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM) is a high-quality English language journal with an impact factor of 7.4. STAM’s current editorial board consists of 39 members from 10 countries with expertise in diverse areas of materials research, including editor-in-chief Kazuhiro Hono (President, National Institute for Materials Science). The journal covers all areas of materials research (e.g., research on metallic, inorganic, organic and biological materials and nanotechnologies) and serves as a medium for materials scientists to globally disseminate their research findings. The publication and editorial processes of this open access journal have been cosponsored by NIMS and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa). Authors retain copyright to their articles, which are published under a Creative Commons CC BY license.
