Schizophrenia Bulletin Open (SBO)
Journal Descriptions
Schizophrenia Bulletin Open (SBO), an Open Access companion journal to Schizophrenia Bulletin, views the field of research on schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders as broad and deep, and will publish new knowledge ranging from the molecular basis of psychosis to social and cultural factors that affect psychotic illnesses. We review recent developments and empirically based hypotheses regarding classification, etiopathogenesis, risk factors, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. We also give new emphasis to translational reports that simultaneously highlight basic neurobiological mechanisms and clinical manifestations. Some of SBO’s content will be invited as special features or manuscripts organized as a theme by special guest editors. Most pages of SBO are devoted to unsolicited manuscripts of high quality that report original data or where we can provide a special venue for a major study or workshop report. Supplement issues are sometimes provided for manuscripts reporting from a recent conference or other special topics. The editorial policy of Schizophrenia Bulletin Open generally follows the Uniform Requirements guidelines articulated by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. The journal is published annually, serving readership and contributors from all over the world. Issues of SBO include major reviews with commentaries as well as special issues comprised of review articles covering clinical and basic scientific aspects of the theme area of the issue.
