RIG - Kulturhistorisk tidskrift (RIG)
Journal Descriptions
RIG is another name for the god Heimdall, who according to the Old Icelandic “Song of Rig” gave rise to the different social classes. This poem contains the oldest cultural historical description we have from the Nordic countries. RIG publishes articles, presents new theses, debate contributions, book reviews and notices within the broad sense of cultural history research. The editorial board welcomes manuscripts from all areas and disciplines within this field of research. The journal has been published every year since 1918 and includes, among other things, an almost complete series of reviews of ethnological theses. From volume 98 (2015: 1), Rig is published by the Royal Gustav Adolf Academy. Submitted manuscripts are assessed by the editorial team and two independent peer reviewers. During the external review, both reviewers and authors are anonymous to each other.
