Journal Descriptions

Created in 1994, the International Journal of Comparative Politics meets a dual need, both theoretical and practical. To develop comparative analysis is to advance the scientificity of political science. Comparisons make it possible to explain the specific effects of political structures and processes, independently of their environmental conditions. Political life is becoming increasingly internationalized. Comparative politics helps us to better distinguish between general behavior and national singularities. As the leading journal of comparative politics in the French-speaking world, it enables its specialists to reach a wide audience in the international scientific community by publishing in French or English. The editorial board examines all proposals for thematic dossiers or free articles in French of a comparative nature, likely to contribute to the analysis of political phenomena. Thematic dossiers and articles should reflect original scientific research in the social sciences. Proposals must be unpublished and submitted exclusively to the Revue Internationale de Politique Comparée, which will issue an opinion within a specified period. Proposals for articles or thematic dossiers may be submitted at any time to the journal's general secretariat. Each article undergoes a double anonymous evaluation, at the end of which it can either be rejected, accepted with modifications, or accepted as is. The Journal pays the utmost attention to scientific probity. In particular, it rejects all forms of plagiarism, whether direct plagiarism (copying, in whole or in part, the work of others and passing it off as one's own) or self-plagiarism.
