Revue française de sociologie (RFS)
Journal Descriptions
Founded in 1960 by Jean Stoetzel, the Revue française de sociologie is the first general sociology journal in the French language. It publishes works that contribute to the knowledge of the social world and to the development of the conceptual and technical tools for this knowledge. Covering all areas of the discipline, the RFS publishes texts of a varied nature: articles with a theoretical or empirical focus, reviews of issues, critical notes, book reviews. It regularly offers entirely thematic issues and issues partially focused on a theme. Open to the most diverse theoretical and methodological trends, and keen to confront sociology with the problems of society, the Revue française de sociologie ensures, through the choice of published texts, to maintain the high scientific level to which it owes its reputation in France and abroad. It thus plays a significant role in promoting French and French-speaking sociological research, through the systematic translation of all articles into English since 2012. The Revue française de sociologie benefits from scientific recognition and is published with the support of the CNRS. Revue française de sociologie aims to disseminate high-quality French sociological studies while at the same time welcoming diverse theoretical and methodological trends. It intends to show the importance of sociological studies to knowledge about the social world. The Revue Française de Sociologie is a quarterly journal founded in 1960 by Jean Stoetzel and published with support from the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). It aims at publishing work that furthers knowledge of the social world and the development of conceptual and technical instruments in the service of that knowledge.
