Revue du MAUSS (RM)
Journal Descriptions
Founded in 1981 by Alain Caillé, the M.A.U.S.S. journal has established itself as one of the very first interdisciplinary journals and an important forum for public debate in France. It offers fresh perspectives on economics, anthropology, sociology and political philosophy. At the opposite end of the encyclopedic spectrum, La Revue du M.A.U.S.S. takes a permanent, reasoned look at the social sciences. Because it has always refused to dissociate purely scientific discussions from their ethical and political stakes, La Revue du M.A.U.S.S. is at the origin of many of today's crucial social debates. "Anti-utilitarian", it criticizes economism in the social sciences and instrumental rationalism in moral and political philosophy. Paying homage to Marcel Mauss in its name, it encourages us to think of the social bond in terms of the (agonistic) gifts that unite human subjects. This journal of research, popularization and debate is aimed at all those all those interested in what is happening at the intersection of the social sciences politics and history, especially academics, researchers and students. and students.
