Revue des sciences philosophiques et théologiques (RSPT)
Journal Descriptions
Since its inception in 1907 by French Dominicans, this journal has been intended for university researchers and scholars in the disciplines of philosophy and theology. Founded in 1907 by the French Dominicans, what insiders reverently refer to as RSPT has always been a journal for researchers and academics. The articles, peppered with scholarly notes, contribute to the diverse debates of philosophers and theologians, who find in the second part of each issue numerous critical reviews of specialized works, and a systematic survey of some one hundred leading international journals in their field. ounded in 1907 by a group of French Dominicans, then exiled in Belgium, at a place called "Le Saulchoir", the Revue des Sciences philosophiques et théologiques (or RSPT) quickly established itself as a leading journal in philosophy, theology and religious studies. Firmly rooted in the intellectual tradition of the Order of Preachers and loyalty to the Roman Catholic Church, it has also been deliberately involved, from the very beginning, in contemporary debates within the secular university, in strict accordance with the criteria of scientific research. A sign of this spirit of both openness and scientificity is the early choice of the Librairie philosophique J. Vrin as its publishing house, to which the journal is linked by a long and loyal friendship.
