Revue de philosophie économique / Review of Economic Philosophy (RPE)
Journal Descriptions
Founded in 2002 by Prof. Alain Leroux (Université de la Méditerranée), directed from 2007 by Alain Marciano and Emmanuel Picavet, then from 2015 by Emmanuel Picavet and Gilles Campagnolo, the Revue de Philosophie Économique aims to promote the development and dissemination of fundamental and applied research in the field of economic philosophy, thereby helping to structure the field and consolidate its recognition within the scientific division of labor. The first French journal devoted to this field, the Revue de Philosophie Économique publishes works that rationally, critically and solidly argue the philosophical problems raised by economic activity and by our understanding of this activity; these works contribute in particular to probing the foundations and procedures of economic analysis, as well as its relationship with social and institutional life. The reflections, works and analyses arising from this philosophical questioning of economics can be classified in one of three categories: social philosophy and the political economy of institutions; moral philosophy and normative economics; philosophy and methodology of science in relation to economics. In all three cases, the interaction between the philosophical sciences and economics is crucial to the progress of analysis and knowledge.
