Generally considered to be a publication of reference, the journal has continually published articles at the cutting edge of philosophical research from the best national and international specialists. It deals with all topics with an overarching perspective without taking the side of any particular school of thought. The Revue de métaphysique et de morale publishes thematic dossiers and individual contributions, as well as reviews, critical discussions and bulletins devoted to the most notable recent French or foreign publications in a given field. Dossiers are devoted to major issues currently being debated in the international philosophical community, or to new research in the history of philosophy. In accordance with its tradition, the Revue intends to contribute to the renewal of reflection in the various fields of philosophy, to the development of rational criticism, and to the broadest opening of philosophical discussion on the basis of first-rate scientific information.
