Revue d’histoire des sciences (RDDS)
Journal Descriptions
The Revue d'histoire des sciences, owned by the Fondation "Pour la science", welcomes works on all subjects, fields, methods and periods in the history of science. Founded in 1947 by Henri Berr, the Revue d'histoire des sciences is a peer-reviewed journal. A generalist in its field, it covers all periods and disciplines. It focuses on the conceptual history of science but is open to other approaches, such as institutional and sociological ones. Now published twice a year, it publishes, in French or English, in thematic files or in miscellaneous, articles presenting the unpublished results of research work in the history of science and historical epistemology as well as in-depth and documented synthesis studies on particular points. It also has a documentary vocation leading it to publish critical annotated editions and translations, critical reviews, bibliographies and analyses of works. Edited by Armand Colin since 2006, the Revue d'histoire des sciences has a double edition, paper, and electronic, via its publishing house and the Cairn portal ( http://www.cairn.info/revue-d-histoire-des-sciences.htm ). All volumes published from 1947 to 2006 are fully accessible and free of charge on the Persée portal ( http://www.persee.fr/web/revues/home/prescript/revue/rhs ).
