The UDCA Journal of Current Affairs & Scientific Dissemination is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, continuously published, open-access (diamond) scientific journal. The journal's purpose is to evaluate, publish, and disseminate research results from tropical and subtropical regions, primarily those located in Latin America. The areas covered are: Agricultural Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social and Economic Geography. To facilitate access and appropriation of scientific production, the journal publishes articles in Spanish, English, or Portuguese. Manuscripts are received from March 1st to June 30th of each year, and articles are published once accepted and included in one of the two issues published annually: the first issue runs from January to June, and the second from July to December. The majority of the documents it publishes are scientific articles; however, it also publishes reflection articles, review articles, case reports, and technical notes. All articles published since 2012 are available in PDF, HTML, or XML for free reading or download. Authors are not required to pay any fees for processing and publishing manuscripts. The free publication of manuscripts is due to the financial support of the University of Applied and Environmental Sciences and the voluntary collaboration of external reviewers. The journal has been published without interruption since 1998 and is indexed in: Scopus, Chemical Abstracts, CAB Abstract, Publindex National Bibliographic Index classified in “B” Call No.910 of 2021, SciELO Colombia, Reviewed in Latindex and included in the UNAM Periodical database, Mexico, in the Directory of Open Access Journals-DOAJ, and in the Ibero-American Network for Innovation and Scientific Knowledge-REDIB
