The Journal of Anthropology and Sociology: VIRAJES is an open-access scientific publication with no APC (Article Processing Charge) fee and is published semiannually. It is affiliated with the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences and is supported in the editorial process by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies of the University of Caldas. It receives articles in English, Portuguese, French, and Spanish. It is a biannual publication aimed at researchers, practitioners, and academics interested in discussions of contemporary social sciences. It publishes original research articles, reflection articles, and review articles on topics such as social movements, decolonial studies, cultural studies, Amerindian ontologies, intersectionality, interculturalism and democracy, archaeology, bioanthropology, heritage studies, contemporary linguistics studies, capitalism studies, contemporary social theory, and discussions of social research methods. The purpose of the Journal of Anthropology and Sociology: VIRAJES is to provide a space to bring to light the debates inherent to social research. The journal draws on research from both postgraduate training processes and applied research in the different subdisciplines of anthropology and sociology. It addresses these debates from a pluralistic perspective that takes into account the diversity of research subjects and topics, as well as epistemological and methodological approaches. It recognizes the inextricable connection between ethics, politics, practice, and the production of knowledge. It views research results as a process, not a finished product.
