Revista Brasileira de Otorrinolaringologia (RBO)
Journal Descriptions
Revista Brasileira de Otorrinolaringologia was one of the leading medical journals in Brazil dedicated to otorhinolaryngology and related head and neck specialties. Established in 1939, the journal served as the official scientific publication of the Brazilian Association of Otorhinolaryngology and Cervico Facial Surgery. It provided an important academic platform for clinicians, surgeons, audiologists, and medical researchers working in ear, nose, throat, and craniofacial medicine. The journal published original research articles, clinical studies, case reports, review papers, and surgical investigations related to otology, rhinology, laryngology, audiology, vestibular disorders, sleep apnea, facial plastic surgery, and head and neck oncology. It also addressed diagnostic imaging, microsurgical techniques, hearing disorders, and advances in ENT therapeutics. In 2009, the journal adopted the international English title Brazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology to expand its global scientific visibility and indexing reach. The successor journal continues to be widely indexed in major biomedical databases including MEDLINE, Scopus, and SciELO.
