The journal aims to contribute to the transparency of research, accelerate dissemination and foster the reuse of scholarly data. RDJ is an e-only and Diamond Open Access journal. Articles are published in Open Access at no cost to the author. RDJ was founded by Brill and DANS in 2016. From 2021 the journal is funded and published in collaboration with CESSDA, the Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives.
