Recherches sur Diderot et sur l’Encyclopédie (RDI)

This journal is dedicated exclusively to Diderot, one of the greatest writers and thinkers of the eighteenth century, and to the Encyclopédie, the intellectual monument of the Enlightenment, which he directed for almost 25 years. This is the only journal devoted to both Diderot and the Encyclopédie. Resolutely multidisciplinary, excluding no form of participation and no research method, it has an international audience, both through its readers and its contributors. In each issue (varia or thematic), readers will find, in addition to the articles themselves, rare or unpublished documents, a review of autographs that have passed through the sales catalog, reviews of recent books and an up-to-date bibliographical notebook, as well as, of course, a summary in French and English of the articles contained in the issue. Since 1986, Recherches sur Diderot et sur l'Encyclopédie has been published by the Société Diderot (an association under the French law of 1901), founded by Anne-Marie and Jacques Chouillet in Langres, Diderot's birthplace, on October 25, 1985. The Société Diderot also organizes numerous meetings and colloquia, reported here and in its "Nouvelles", also available on the website: http://www.univ-paris-diderot.fr/diderot/ The Société Diderot, and therefore the journal, only exist thanks to the voluntary dynamism of its members, the support of institutions and, above all, the financial contribution of membership fees.
