RATIO LEGIS is a periodical magazine published in physical and digital formats by the Electoral Tribunal's Institute for Democratic Studies (INED) every six months, since January 2021. Ratio Legis is a semiannual academic journal published by the Instituto de Estudios Democráticos of Panama’s Electoral Tribunal. It focuses on completed legal research by national and international authors in various law fields, including constitutional, administrative, procedural, commercial, and civil law. The journal supports democratic culture and legal knowledge dissemination, in line with the Organic Law 5 of 2016 governing the Electoral Tribunal's research and teaching functions. It targets academics, legal professionals, and practitioners. Publications are available in the institutional repository. Ratio Legis is a biannual publication whose objective is to disseminate completed research by both national and international authors. Its thematic coverage focuses on the areas of legal knowledge. Within its editorial production, INED has published works in research areas such as constitutional law, administrative law, procedural law, commercial law, and civil law, which are also available in the institutional repository ( https://rinedtep.edu.pa/home ). These publications adhere to the powers established by Law 5 of 2016, Organic Law of the Electoral Tribunal, regarding "research, teaching, and democratic culture" and functions related to the area of research. The journal is open to publishing research by interested authors, provided that they are framed within the subject matter of the journal and comply with the editorial standards required by INED for the dissemination of articles. The audience for the Ratio Legis journal is the academic community, law producers, and judicial practitioners.
