We are living through a resurgence of interest in psychoanalysis, in academia and the clinic globally. Psychoanalysis and History studies the history of what has concerned psychoanalysis and its disciplinary allies, giving us the history of society’s fears, fantasies, and dreams of itself. Recent special issues have covered topics such as: Free Clinics and the Social Mission of Psychoanalysis, Sinopsychoanalysis, Carlo Ginzburg and psychoanalytic historiography, Psychoanalysis and the Middle East, The Budapest School, Psychoanalysis and Disability, Radical Psychoanalysis and Ethnography 1970s-1980s. Psychoanalysis & Historyis a peer-reviewed journal devoted both to the study of the history of psychoanalysis and to the application of psychoanalytic ideas to historiography. The interdisciplinary aim of the journal is to form a bridge between the academic study of history and psychoanalysis. Articles are published in English, with abstracts in the original language if the article appears in translation. Guidelines on style and manuscript preparation can be viewed here. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically if at all possible to the Editor atpsyandhistory@gmail.com. The wordprocessing program for both Windows and Macs should be Microsoft Word; authors may wish to submit in RTF (Rich Text Format) in order to ensure safe arrival. Psychoanalysis and History is devoted both to the study of the history of psychoanalysis and the application of psychoanalytic ideas to historiography, thus forming a bridge between the academic study of history and psychoanalysis.
