Psychology, the journal of the Serbian Psychological Society, has been published continuously since 1967 and represents one of the solid pillars of the scientific development of psychology in Serbia and the fundamental pillars of the Society. After more than ten years of unsuccessful attempts to obtain the necessary financial resources from the Society, the Serbian Psychological Society managed to publish its first issue with its own funds in March 1967. It was the first, and for many years afterwards, the only journal of psychologists in the SFR Yugoslavia (apart from Acta Institutiti Psyčologici Universitatis Zagrebiensis, which was launched in 1932 by Ramiro Bujas). The first editors were Ivan Ivić and Predrag Ognjenović. For the Truth's Sake, an organization of psychology students in Belgrade, published a high-quality journal, Psychological Bulletin, from 1956 to 1964, whose publication was supported by the Serbian Psychological Society. Many psychologists also published their works in it. The journal Psikhologija mainly publishes theoretical, research and other works that represent a contribution to the development of psychological science in Serbia and the world. A fine analysis of the first ten years of publication was provided by the journal's editorial board in issue 3-4/1977. A second, more extensive quantitative-qualitative analysis, after 15 years of publication, with a bibliography of all articles and an index of authors, was provided by N. Havelka, B. Vidanović and B. Kuzmanović, in issue 1-2/1983. After 20 years of publication, L. Vučić and B. Vidanović, in issue 1-2/1988. gave a review of the work of the editorial board, an analysis of the structure of articles and a bibliography, with an index of authors, in the period 1983-1987. A similar analysis, with a bibliography and an index of authors, was provided for the period 1993-1997 in issue 4/1997 by P. Kovačević and I. Petrović.
