Population (Population)
Journal Descriptions
Founded in 1946, Population is an international scientific journal published by the Institut national d'études démographiques (Ined), a French research institute specializing in population sciences. It is the leading demography journal in France. Internationally renowned, it is published 4 times a year in print and electronic format, simultaneously in French and English. Population is submitted to an editorial board of leading scientists. It welcomes original work by researchers in demography and related disciplines: sociology, economics, anthropology, history, geography, epidemiology and public health, and social science methodology. Articles, which may be submitted in French or English, undergo a double-blind peer review process, before being translated, edited and distributed in both languages. Topics cover all regions of the world. In line with Ined's open science policy, the journal is now distributed in immediate open access on the Cairn.info and Cairn-int.info platforms, with no submission or publication fees for authors or their institutions. The journal's editorial policy, evaluation procedures, instructions for authors, as well as rules for open archive dissemination and data policy are detailed on the journal's website: http://www.revue-population.fr.
