Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE)
Journal Descriptions
Politics, Philosophy & Economics is a peer‑reviewed interdisciplinary academic journal that provides a forum at the junction of political theory, moral and political philosophy, and economic analysis. It was established in 2002 to encourage innovative scholarship that brings philosophical insights to bear on questions about political institutions, economic structures, public policy, and normative theory. The journal publishes original research articles, essays, and critical discussions that analyze issues such as constitutional design, distributive justice, property rights, egalitarianism, welfare policy, democratic institutions, the ethics of markets, and the evolution of social norms. Its interdisciplinary scope allows contributions from scholars who use a range of methodologies and perspectives — normative, conceptual, analytical, and theoretical — as long as they illuminate questions at the intersection of its core disciplines. PPE emphasizes work that is accessible without sacrificing rigor, fostering dialogue among political scientists, philosophers, and economists and promoting cross‑disciplinary understanding. Through quarterly publication, it contributes to debates in political philosophy, ethical theory, public policy, and economics, making it influential in fields where normative and institutional analysis intersect.
