Planta Medica is a leading international journal devoted to high-quality research on natural products of any origin, from defined single compounds to complex mixtures. The journal covers compounds derived from plants, microorganisms, fungi, marine and other organisms, as well as biotechnologically and synthetically engineered natural products. It publishes experimental, preclinical, translational, and clinical studies in pharmacology and toxicology, together with research on the biological activities, mechanisms of action, chemical ecology and chemical biology of natural products. Its scope includes natural product chemistry, advanced analytical methods, medicinal plant research, drug discovery, and target identification using in silico, cheminformatics and AI-based approaches.
