Journal Descriptions

Phase Transitions is the only journal devoted exclusively to this important subject. It provides a focus for papers on most aspects of phase transitions in condensed matter physics and soft matter physics. Emphasis is placed on experimental work and theoretical papers, provided they have some bearing on experimental results. The areas of interest include equilibrium and nonequilibrium aspects of phase transitions under changes in various external parameters like temperature, pressure, strain, irradiations and electric or magnetic fields. Our journal will primarily focus on the physical characteristics and applications of phase transitions in the following contexts: Phase transitions in: Bulk ferroics materials: single crystals, ceramics, thin films and membranes Proper ferroelectrics, improper and hybrid ferroelectrics, and antiferroelectric materials Relaxors Liquid crystals Piezoelectrics Multiferroics Thin films and heterostructures Ferroic polymers, composites, organic-inorganic materials Dielectric switching materials Magnetic materials Superconductors and superfluids Geophysics New polar materials
