Ohio History (OH)
Journal Descriptions
For more than 100 years, Ohio History published peer-reviewed scholarly essays, research notes, edited primary documents, and book reviews spanning the political, military, social, economic, ethnic, archaeological, architectural, and cultural history of Ohio and the Midwest. Published twice a year in spring and fall, the journal also included essays on subjects concerning the nation and the Midwest with an Ohio focus. The Fall 2024 issue Ohio History is the last one published by Kent State University Press. We have been extremely proud to publish the journal for 17 years and have been honored to work with journal editor Donna DeBlasio and the many scholars whose research has furthered our understanding of Ohio’s past. The Ohio History Connection provides a fully searchable online archive of Ohio History issues from 1887 through 2004 at https://resources.ohiohistory.org/ohj/. Open Access Kent State (OAKS) provides free, online issues of Ohio History from 2007 through 2024 at https://oaks.kent.edu/ohj. All issues of Ohio History published by Kent State University Press will continue to be available through OAKS.
