Journal Descriptions
Norsk sosiologisk tidsskrift (Norwegian Journal of Sociology) was established in 2016 as a continuation of Sosiologisk tidsskrift and the editorial staff from Sosiologi i dag. Its first issue was published in February 2017. The journal publishes scientific articles, debate/commentary articles, and book reviews within the field of sociology in six issues per year - three themed and three open. From 2021 onwards, articles submitted to the open issues will be published continuously after acceptance. The journal aims to be the leading publication channel for Norwegian sociology and related disciplines, as well as to promote academic debate and development among sociologists. The journal's target audience includes researchers, teachers, students, political and administrative decision-makers, media, and a broad general public. The journal mainly publishes articles in Norwegian but is also open to articles in Danish, English, and Swedish if the author does not have Norwegian as their native language. The journal is owned by the board in Norsk sosiologisk tidsskrift and is published by Universitetsforlaget with support from Nasjonalt tidsskriftkonsortium for humaniora og samfunnsvitenskap and the board's member institutions. The board consists of representatives from Norsk sosiologforening and the sociology departments at the University of Oslo, the University of Bergen, NTNU, OsloMet, and UiT – The Arctic University of Norway.
