Nordic Eastern Forum (NØF) covers political, economic and cultural developments in Eastern Europe (including the Balkans), Russia, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The journal invites researchers to participate in the Nordic debate on developments in one of our most important neighboring regions. The journal was first published in 1986, and is now published by Cappelen Damm in collaboration with the Norwegian Institute of Foreign Affairs (NUPI) and our Nordic editorial offices. Nordic East Forum is published continuously and is aimed at researchers and students in social sciences, humanities and area studies in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Nordic East Forum is ranked at scientific level 1 in the Norwegian Council of Universities (UHR) list of publishing channels. As of 2016, Nordic East Forum is a scientific Open Access journal.
