Nordisk poesi-Scandinavian Poetry (NP)
Journal Descriptions
Nordisk poesi – Scandinavian Poetry is a scientific open access journal, particularly focused on poetic diction. The journal is centred on and addresses the poetry of the Nordic region, the national languages of Scandinavia – Danish, Swedish, Icelandic, Faroese, and Norwegian – but also Finnish, Sami and Greenlandic poetry, and poetry written in a variety of immigrant languages. The genres of written poetry, and other forms of oral and sung poetry, are natural objects of study. Poetic theory is also a key area. The target audience for the journal is Scandinavia-based students and scholars of traditional Scandinavian philiology, including the related disciplines of Sami culture, Finnish Studies and other areas within what is referred to internationally as Scandinavian Studies. The journal also caters to students and researchers in the Scandinavian field of education. The journal publishes scientific articles and book reviews in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and English. All content in the journal is published under the terms of the Creative Commons license Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC 4.0). Scandinavian Poetry is published twice a year by Scandinavian University Press, in cooperation with Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. The journal receives financial aid from Nordic Board for Periodicals in the Humanities and the Social Sciences (NOP-HS).
